Awareness Program on Body Images Issues

An awareness program was organized by the Department of Occupational Therapy, SOAHS, MAHE, Manipal on 26^th and 27^th October 29, 2018, on “Body Image Issues” for 8^th to 10^th-grade students of Madhav Kripa and Christ school, Manipal. The objective of the program was to sensitize the students on the effects of body image issues on the daily occupations such as academics, social participation – on friendship, attending family/social gatherings, self –care. The students were informed how to act on these issues. The importance of self-love and acceptance was emphasized. The program was delivered through a skit, powerpoint presentation, and interaction with students. 227 students and their teachers participated in the program.
