Overview

Objective and Scope of M.Sc Forensic Science: This Masters program aims at grooming postgraduates to have a sound basis of Forensic medicine and Toxicology along with the basics of Biochemistry, Immunology, Biostatistics, Basics of psychology, Cyber forensics and Genetics. Wide knowledge of principle and application of various instruments and techniques used in the clinical and research field. Provides hands on experience in forensic as well as toxicology laboratory functioning, laboratory management and basics of quality control in forensic laboratory. The present program provides a theoretical and practical exposure to fundamentals of Forensic science and Forensic medicine and toxicology, management of analytical laboratory and quality control along with research methodologies.

Course description: The course focuses on developing students’ overall knowledge of forensic science enabling them and preparing them to handle medicolegal cases and  crime scene related issues.

Focus: The students would be trained in the specific fields like cyber forensics, forensic medicine, analytical toxicology, forensic photography, Fingerprints, Document examination, Evidence collection from the crime scene and forensic psychology.

Career Prospectus: The graduates of MSc forensic science are recruited in the following fields such as Intelligence bureau, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Forensic Science Laboratories, Faculty in academic Institutions, Hospitals, Private detective agencies, Law firms, Police department, Quality control bureau, Banks, Universities, Defense/Army etc.
